More Appliance Calls is an independent publication for people who own appliance repair companies. It exists because this trade gets pitched constantly and shown evidence almost never.

Who writes it

Steven Von is the editor. He has spent years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, including appliance repair companies that run anywhere from one van to a small fleet. He knows the real questions: why the phone goes quiet in October, why a home warranty company pays $55 for a claim that takes two trips, why the shop with 300 reviews gets the fridge call and the shop with 12 gets the voicemail. Every guide here is written to answer those with numbers you can check.

Where the benchmark numbers come from

The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. Each month the listings for appliance repair companies in every US state are pulled, deduplicated by place so a shop with two categories is only counted once, and summarized. The current dataset holds 15,956 listings across 51 states.

What gets measured: review count and rating, whether a website is listed and what kind, photos, posted hours, 24-hour or weekend claims, and whether an email is public. From those we compute medians, percentiles and the gap between shops with a website and shops without. Revenue, van count and anything private are not measured.

Editorial rules

  • No pay-to-play. No shop, parts supplier, software vendor or franchise can buy a mention or a ranking.
  • Every claim is sourced or marked as opinion. Benchmark figures come from the dataset and refresh when it does. Price ranges reflect what appliance repair companies actually charge and pay; they are ranges, never promises.
  • No invented results. There are no "a client in Ohio tripled his calls" stories here because those stories cannot be checked.
  • Plain language. If a sentence would sound strange said across a workbench, it gets rewritten.

How the free 14-day trial works

Every service on this site, from Google Ads to bookkeeping, can be tried free for 14 days. You text or call, there is a 20-minute setup call, and the service runs in your own accounts for two weeks. Ad spend, if any, goes to Google or Meta on your own card. There is no card on file with us, nothing renews, and there is no contract to cancel.

At the end of 14 days you get a plain report of what happened: calls, bookings, reviews, whatever the service was meant to move. Then you decide whether to keep going at a monthly rate or stop.

The trial exists because the owner of an appliance repair company should see a dispatch board getting fuller before paying anyone for marketing. Most vendors ask for a six-month contract before the first call rings. We think the order should be the reverse.

Questions about any of this are answered on the FAQ page, or text or call (385) 534-1793.

Pick anything we do. We run it for your appliance repair company for two full weeks at no cost, then you decide. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
